I think only federal agencies are permitted to use aforementioned devices,definetely not civilians.

Some prisons use cell-phone jammers. You’re going to have to look up cellphone jammer legislation in your district, state, or county. Generally any device that causes interference is regulated..
I live in Canada and a principal here did this a little while ago..I believe it is only illegal if they don’t tell you. If they tell you though, I think they can. They are used at lots of events for security reasons (I believe they were used when Obama was voted President). If he gave you fair warning, I think you’re SOL.
The FCC is slowly changing the rules with regards to prison use, and as I believe they are moving to allow other applications as well. Your best bet would be to check with state and local authorities, and you would also have to make the distinction if your school is considered private property or not.
